From enhancements for enterprise clouds to new social CRM capabilities, Microsoft’s 2011 Worldwide Partner Conference had plenty of dynamic highlights. Indeed, Microsoft Dynamics CRM was in the spotlight this year.

It all started with the keynote address, where Kirill Tatarinov, president of the Microsoft Business Solutions Division, told 15,000 people in the audience how Microsoft Dynamics CRM is growing rapidly. The software now boasts more than 30,000 customers and two million users globally.

“We have this very ambitious vision for what the business of the future ought to look like. We call that Dynamic Business. The only constant in the world is change,” Tatarinov said. “And we’re setting up the future where every business can be dynamic, business that does not stand still, business that anticipates change, business that moves ahead of the pace of the economy and the environment that surrounds it. And we build tools, systems and methodologies that empowers and enables Dynamic Business.”

Dynamic Enhancements

Tatarinov said the next update to Microsoft Dynamics CRM online will be released in the fourth quarter. The updates include enhancements for Enterprise Cloud, new social CRM capabilities, and unification with Office 365 for enterprises, among others.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online’s update will include new billing, provisioning and admin tools. The update will allow midmarket businesses and enterprise customers to get the software with any Office 365 Enterprise plan. That means a single bill for both programs and common user identity and authentication.

Enhancements for Enterprise Cloud include Identity Federation support single sign-on. This function aims to improve the experience for end users switching between Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Office 365 applications. Microsoft also improved its disaster recovery features with an in-region application that works to better protect data and offer higher levels of business continuity in the wake of a disaster.
